This week we have been celebrating some of the amazing women across our network, from Franchise owners and managers to sign makers, designers and a range of support staff.
To conclude our support of International Women’s Day campaign, we have collated quotes from people across our network. Cathy Johnston, Owner of Signs Express (Belfast) – “As a female sign maker and business owner, I am proud to challenge stereotypes and carve a path for other women in the industry.” Chloe Cremin, Sign Maker at Signs Express (Portsmouth) – “Being a female sign maker and designer comes as a surprise to many people, but I always prove my abilities, skills and thrive, even when I am underestimated within this male dominated industry.” Mayura Joshi, Owner of Signs Express (Colchester & Chelmsford) – “In any business situation, the thought that I am a woman in a man’s world never crosses my mind and why should it? In my experience, customers want to deal with people who are professional, knowledgeable, reliable and trustworthy.” Tori Kendrick, Sign Maker at Signs Express (Birmingham SW) – “Having been a sign maker for eight years, I have experienced the company’s supportiveness and dedication to gender equality which still poses considerable challenges for women in this industry.” Jonathan Bean, Managing Director of Signs Express is also an advocate of International Women’s Day and supporting women in the workplace. He said: “When building my team, gender is never a consideration. To build a strong business you need to employ people who have skill, ability and drive, these things are irrespective of a person’s gender. I am proud to encourage more women into the signage industry through various job roles and support their development.”
