Manchester City FC supporter Mark Meadowcroft of Signs Express (Northampton) welcomed the commission of a lifetime this month, when he was asked to transform a Nissan Le Mans show car into his football team's colours.
Mark, who is based on Salthouse Road on Brackmills Industrial Estate, took a call from Nissan last week asking him to turn the race car into a fitting centrepiece for the City v West Bromwich Albion game at the weekend. In just three days Mark and his highly skilled team of vehicle wrappers gave the car a completely new look, giving the red racer a sky blue body and completing the make-over with Manchester City branding. The whole job was only unveiled when the car was collected and delivered to the club's Etihad Stadium in Manchester in time for Saturday's game. Mark commented: 'I've been a Manchester City fan literally since I could walk and talk, so to get a commission like this was a total dream come true – bringing my company's expertise together with my own passion for the football club. When we first got the call all I knew was that I would be doing the job for a Premier League club. Imagine my amazement when I found out it was my team! A huge thanks to the team for their total commitment to the job. The icing on the cake was that we won 3-0. I couldn't have written the script any better myself.' The vinyl wrapping job took Signs Express (Northampton) over 30 hours to complete, with the vinyl perfectly matched to Manchester City's iconic sky blue colour shirts. Nissan and Manchester City are global commercial partners, and their motorsport marketing team works at Silverstone. Mark and his team at Signs Express (Northampton) offer a full range of signs and graphics solutions to Northampton and the surrounding area.
