Thomas Somers, owner of Signs Express (Lancaster), has completed a nine-day epic cycle ride that started last week raising much needed funds for the British Paralympic Team. The iconic route of LEJOG took him all the way from Land’s End in Cornwall to John O’Groats in the far north of Scotland.
Thomas originally set himself a target of raising £2,000 for the Paralympic Team, but he has completely smashed this and raised over £3,100 for the Team, just in time for the beginning of training for 2020 Paralympics! After 600 miles Thomas admitted that “The only part of me that doesn’t ache, is my toes, but the sunrises and scenery have made it all worthwhile and the organisation of the event has been excellent.” In spite of the pain, Thomas’ steadfast resolve meant he finished the event in style, albeit a lot more tired than when he started.
