Built in 2014, The Apollo Works, is a purpose built complex with modern shared flats and studios for students at Coventry University With a two-week turnaround, from initial brief to installation, we suggested applying graphics to the 5 windows using reverse printing on clear vinyl and backing it on to white vinyl. This would result in the graphics to be viewed only from the outside, ensuring the students benefit from the large natural sunlight coming through to the building but also benefit from the additional privacy and security from the outside. The vinyl used was one-way vision film which transforms glass with one-way vision graphics that cannot be seen from the other side. The graphics are used for advertising, branding or to achieve decorative effects. They also provide privacy and solar control benefits to people inside buildings and vehicles without blocking their view outside.
