Our Work
On the buses
Official sponsors of the Norwich City of Ale festival, Signs Express provided the advertising posters to the Eastern Transport Society's vintage red double-decker for the festival.
The Eastern Transport Collection Society is an educational charity owning a number of ex Eastern Counties buses dating from 1950 to 1979. They were asked by the festival organisers to help promote the event with the aid of their vintage vehicles. Using state-of-the-art Phototex material, the large format poster was installed by the team at Signs Express, covering the existing artwork. The revolutionary new material is self-adhesive which sticks to any surface, peels without leaving any sticky residue, does not tear and can be ready to re-use and re-apply straight away. Phototex is the ideal solution for interior wall displays, wall paper, point-of-sale and as temporary vehicle graphics and exterior posters. Commenting on the work Richard Dixon, Eastern Transport Society said; 'I suggested that we could use our 1954 Bristol double-decker bus at the press release for the event and that a banner could be hung from the side covering the permanent advertisement. Our only concern was the fact that we would be covering a permanent vinyl graphic and that upon removal, damage would occur. Signs Express explained that their product can be removed without any problem. We arranged to have the graphic applied at the Norwich sign centre and the finished result looked superb. The bus was seen around Norwich and other parts of Norfolk remaining securely affixed. Recently we removed both the adverts, peeling them off gently; we could not find any damage to the vinyl below. As a temporary solution we would recommend its use and found your company very helpful during the whole process. We are considering using this semi-permanent method to customise adverts which can be affixed to our 1952 double-decker that is currently undergoing restoration as a way to raise money.'
