Signs Express (Birmingham South West) recently supported a young boy from Alvechurch break a Guinness World Record by providing promotional signs and banners for the event.
Finlay Church, who was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma multiform brain tumour last June, wanted to raise money and awareness for Brain Tumour Research and Birmingham Children's Hospital. Finlay has been recovering in Alder Hay Children's Hospital, Liverpool, following recent brain surgery and medical professionals were unsure if he would be well enough to attend his World Record Breaking attempt – which was to have the most teddy bears in a row at any one time. A live video link was set up on 03.05.15 so Finlay could watch as the record attempt took place and later on he was given the all clear to make the journey back to Alvechurch and he laid the last bear at 6.30pm, breaking the World Record by having an incredible 15,534 bears all lined up, beating the previous World Record (4,041) by more than three time! More than 2,000 people attended the event and three teams of adjudicators gave up their time by taking shifts to check the World Record was carried out correctly. Joe Smith, managing director of Signs Express (Birmingham SW) said; 'We were delighted to be able to support such a fantastic achievement and promote the World Record attempt, which was no small feat for Finlay to take on and has raised much needed funds and awareness for his two causes, which are obviously very close to his heart. We are very pleased that Finlay managed to smash the previous record and thrilled to have been involved.' For more information on Finlay's World Record see the Bromsgrove Advertisers article here.
