Part-time Bookkeeper/Accounts Administrator

We are looking for a dedicated and organised Accounts Administrator/Bookkeeper to join our growing team at Signs Express (Portsmouth) to help manage the day-to-day accounts procedures along with general administration responsibilities and basic quoting support.

As an Accounts Administrator/Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial and administrative functions of the company. Your attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks will ensure the smooth running of our operations.

  • Location: Signs Express (Portsmouth), Unit G3 Railway Triangle Industrial Estate, Walton Road, Portsmouth, PO6 1TQ
  • Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
  • Working Hours: Part-time position, hours can be flexible

Duties Include:

  • Process and maintain accurate financial records, including invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements and manage petty cash.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and statements.
  • Liaise with suppliers and clients regarding account queries and payments.
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, responding to emails, and managing correspondence.
  • Maintain and update company databases and filing systems.
  • Manage office supplies and ensure the office environment is organised and efficient.
  • Providing outstanding customer service to our clients and others at all times.

What we would like from you:

  • Proven experience in an accounts/bookkeeper role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage) and MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and basic HR functions.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
