Signs Express Bath Produce Winning Signage Solutions for Bath Racecourse
Signs Express Bath have been working with Bath Racecourse to update the signage at the racetrack. With events slowly opening back up, the racecourse contacted the Signs Express Bath team to revamp their space and get their signage ready for the public. The work included toilet signs, signage for a new restaurant ‘Bottega’, health & safety signage and way finding signs.
The first area to be upgraded was the toilets. The client wanted to liven up both the exterior and interior, without having to undergo major renovations. To improve the external look, the main ‘TOILETS’ fascia was updated to a smart black and cream design. For continuity, this design was carried over to the signs reading ‘LADIES’ ‘GENTLEMAN’ and ‘DISABLED’.
The main challenge was to improve the internal look of the bathrooms as the racecourse wanted to update their blue cubicles with something more aesthetically pleasing. To achieve this, the cubicles were wrapped with an image captured at the Bath Racecourse. This image not only brightened the space but also showcased an enjoyable racing event at the site.
One of the most exciting projects at the Racecourse, following the improvements made to the toilets, was for the new restaurant ‘Bottega.’ This restaurant is located on the top floor of a large canopy and is subject to windy conditions – making installation work harder than usual. The most difficult sign to install was the flat cut white and gold acrylic letters reading ‘Bottega Terrazza Restaurant & Bar.’ These letters were required to be installed on glass panels at the edge of the canopy and came in large pieces, susceptible to snapping. Other signage included a large Instagram wall (showcasing scenery in Italy), floor graphics with a branded ‘Bottega’ moped, food & drink menus and a ‘Bottega Terrazza Restaurant & Bar’ sign installed on the internal wall of the restaurant.
The site signage was the last to be installed. The racecourse required hundreds of signs to be placed around the site due to covid-19 restrictions.
The team worked incredibly hard to meet the deadlines in place and we are so proud of the end result.
