Consultative design solution for The 100 Apartments
Vaughan Way, close to Highcross Shopping Centre, is one of Leicester’s busiest roads and where, behind three lanes of traffic, stands The 100 Apartments.
The building provides modern and professional accommodation in the heart of Leicester and in its central location on one of the main arterial routes into the city, is seen by potentially thousands of people every day.
The task assigned to Signs Express Leicester & Loughborough was to come up with a signage solution that would make the already prominent city centre building stand out even more.
To this end, we formulated and suggested different ideas, with the eventual solution comprising of the number ‘100’ in large aluminium built-up characters. Each number stands at a cool 1150mm tall, and in its position at the very top of the high-rise building, is truly hard to miss!
Due to the height of the building and location of the sign, the only option was to abseil down the side of the tower from the roof to avoid road closures, which would have had a significant impact on travel in the surrounding area.
Along with the main sign, we manufactured and installed fret cut trays for the front and rear of the building, as well as profile cut window frost to add interest and privacy to the main reception door.
Our client was delighted with the various signage we provided for this project – which is both striking and eye-catching. But, as important, it is functional in aiding visitors and residents to locate the building more easily.
Our range of exterior signage extends also to fascia signs, promotional solutions such as flags, street furniture and much, much more. If you’d like to explore exactly what options are available and which would best suit your brief, please don’t hesitate to get in touch today!
