Our Work
Engineering the perfect sign
Signs Express (Bristol) was approached by Fairway Engineering to produce built up lettering for their new purpose-built industrial site.
Fairway Engineering chose to work with Signs Express (Bristol) because they offered a superior quality product with competitive pricing compared to many other sign companies they spoke with. The signage comprised of fabricated powder-coated aluminium built-up lettering with stand off locators, which was to be applied to the exterior of the new building at a height in excess of 8 metres. The Bristol centre was tasked with supplying all the relevant technical specifications of the built-up lettering and fabrication to ensure they designed the building and architectural plans correctly and in correlation with the signage, as well as supplying documentation so the planning consent could be applied for correctly. All aspects, including supplying the customer’s landlord with Risk Assessment Method Statements and necessary insurances for installation, were also taken care of. The team at Signs Express (Bristol) created visuals and proofs of the signage so the customer knew exactly what would be supplied, and to ensure the fitting locations exactly matched the architectural plans and sign proof documents. With the sign being fitted at a high level in late November, the wet and windy weather conditions made for a challenging installation. The cladding profile was also used so that the sign was manufactured in a way that it created the necessary look. Martin Greenway, General Manager of Fairway Engineering, commented,
